Kanagana Ranaut has been maintaining that she wants to change her disturbed messed up girl image in Bollywood and do varied roles with interesting variations. And it seems with TANU WEDS MANU her wish could just be fulfilled.
The film looks to be a complete fun film with Kangana and R.Madhavan playing the roles of a couple who are a complete mismatch for each other. And by the looks of the promos, they eventually fall in love with each other. Though Kangana has been shown as an aggressive girl with a don’t care attitude, she will be seen in a much lighter and fun role than her previous roles in films. And for the very first time, we will have the sexy actress dancing in the film.
After making her debut in the 2006, Mahesh Bhatt film GANGSTER, there has been no stopping Kangana. She won the Filmfare Best Debut Actress Award that year and looked promising for a great career in the industry. She played the role of an alcohol addict love lost girlfriend in the film, stuck in the midst of love, crime and betrayal. Soon followed WHO LAMHE with Shiney Ahuja and LIFE IN A METRO. By this time everyone in the industry were amazed by her unique acting style and the knack to do dark roles so brightly.
In 2008, she played supporting actress to Priyanka Chopra in the much acclaimed film FASHION. Yet again Kangana had bagged a dark role playing the role of a top model struggling with drugs and her love life.In KITES too she played the role of a desperate in love lady, frantically wanting to get married. In KNOCKOUT we saw her play a small but important role of a reporter. So in all of these movies, Kangana has never really been able to showcase her ability to play smart, happy and chirpy roles with a smiling end to roles. With TANU WEDS MANU, hopefully things would change for the actress.
